Useful Tools for Moving Day

Packing List- Get a clipboard and make sure you have a checklist of all the belongings you are moving out. This allows you to keep progress when moving and show what else you need to do. This also gives you a safe way to keep tabs on everything you are moving.

Pen/ Marker - Helps you mark and tag each box according to content inside. Helpful in organization and key for unpacking after your move. Make sure you label the delicate things "FRAGILE" Also draw on an arrow to show what side is the top of the box.

Scissors/Box cutter - helpful for before the move and after the move. Cutting tape or opening boxes. You don't want to be caught moving without a couple of these on hand. Make sure you have a pointed box cutter because packaging tape can be a pain to cut through.

Safety defense/Cushioning- Bubble wrap, Packing Foam and Tissue. This safety measure is crucial for your move and should not be underestimated. You can also use towels or blankets to save space throughout the move. Don't be afraid to cushion your delicate items. Try not to use too much cushioning because it can take away from space that could be used.

Packaging Tape- It's significant to wrap your boxes tight. You wouldn't want to lose something in the move so don't be afraid to use a lot. Buy more than you need. It's never something that you can have too much of during a move.

Boxes- You can buy exact moving boxes for a little extra money. You are going to want to make sure that you boxes are strong. Moving is a lot of work and put a lot of strain on the boxes.
 Make sure you prefer the right ones. It's helpful to put no more than 50 lbs. in a box. Maybe you've heard to get boxes cheap at a local grocery store. Don't do this. These are weak boxes and can break at any time. Be confident to use moving boxes.
